Oh, Leaf I Found

Oh, Leaf I Found,
Lying on the ground,
Resting gently on a discarded shirt,

How your hues are bled,
Gradually from orange to red,
Skeletal veins spread throughout.

What caught my eye,
Was the rich red dye,
That darkens your central tip.

But what won my heart,
A trait no less than art--
Is your gently crunching sound.
